Buddhist temple

Yesterday we went to the Buddhist temple the first activity we did was a tour around the grounds of the temple. First she showed us the gardens it was awesome there were rocks from all around the world and the grass and trees were symmetrical. Next we went to origami we made flowers first we put down the green leaf then the biggest  star then the next star, until we finished making the flower.




 Then we went to the big Buddha monument it is white jade with gold leaf.  Once we finished learning about the monument she told us about the bell and the drum. The bell is struck at 6.00am before the drum then at 4.00pm the drum is banged then the bell is struck the drum weight is 300 and the bell weight 3,000. After that we went to have morning tea we got brownies and water.




Then we watched a movie it was about a kid how wanted to know what the most power fill person has he has to think good thoughts,say good words and do good things. Next the police did a presentation about 3G one police man lets call him Jeff and the other Bob.  Jeff was playing basket ball by him self and Bob asked to join Jeff but Jeff  said no so Bob played rugby with the other group then Jeff wanted to play with Bob so he asked and bob said yes. Next we did mediation we sat cross legs and our thumbs touching then we breathed in and out.  After that we went back but before that we got a wind chime to take home.

Room 20 has been reading the book ''bridge to terabitha'' In the story it was raining really hard and the creek was swollen and flooded yesterday it was pouring here as well so we decided to do some authentic learning we made some raincoats from plastic bags and walked down to see the creek behind our school we  could see the water flowing fast and the plants that had been flatted. I thought it was scary that the water almost came up to the bridge because you could get easily get swept away.

Writing a Balanced Argument

The best thing about bike skills was that we got to go up and down the ramps and when we learned how to go way faster

than a bmx. The worst part was we were using mouton bikes and when we went into thicker grass I did not know what gear to use.  The thing that was new to me was knowing when to change the gears.

Term 1 week 6

Its been a month since I last posted.That one week has been filled with action packed awesome activity's.One of the big activity's is that we went to camp M.E.R.C. MERC stands for Marine education Recreation centre. merc is run by the sir peter Blake trust. at camp we did a lot of activity's but my favrit one was sailing.I n sailing we just sat down and In the boat and learnt how the boat worked but after a while the instructor let me steer the boat. we went very far out.on the way back t ere was not enuf wind so we had to padil.

Comparing Numbers

I found this work  very easy because you just sorted the numbers into there group . we also  learnt about square  numbers to do the harder one. a square number is numbers the can make a square wen that are dots. also square numbers are 1x1 2x2 ect.

Writing Poems Using our Senses

I was learning to use my senses to write a poem.  It makes our writing more interesting for the reader. It was easy because we did a brainstorm beforehand.  I'm most proud of the tastes like part because I thought it was going to be hard.

I was learning to identify unknown words in the book. This work was easy because I could find words that I didn't know. The part I found hard was what you thought the word meant.

Learning the Sounds of English

We are learning to identify the sounds of English.Every day we add  a new slides with words that contain the sound of the day.

I was learning learning how to writ a story quicker it was hard to come up with the stuff that was around me. my next step is making the spelling beater.

Term 1 Week 2

Today is Friday of week two and I feel tired of being at school.One of  things I enjoyed was learning how to play reading eggs but the best thing we'v done is marking a giant 50 on the field. We marked a giant 50 on the field because it is Elm Park's 50 birthday.
